BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Arrow Concrete Cutting services were employed for major roadworks on tunnel construction for the important St Helena Tunnel. Part of the major Tintenbar to Ewingsdale Pacific Highway Upgrade, the St Helena tunnel is located in Ballina.
Excavated by drill and blast, the tunnel features twin parallel tubes 434 metres in length, as well as cross passages and a control room on top of St Helena.
The Challenge
Tintenbar to Ewingsdale Pacific Highway upgrade covered the major roadworks for the St Helena tunnel upgrade.
The tunnel required installation of signage, pavement and bridge cutting in among the other planned maintenance works.
